For the second year in a row, Press On is teaming with the folks at Recharge of Bend to host the Recharge 5K Fun Run (and Walk) on Saturday, Sept. 23 during our annual Press On event.

Runners of all ages and skill levels are invited to participate in this timed (if you want) 5K event, which is a cornerstone fundraising arm of the annual Press On: Moving Lives Through Cancer effort. Runners can also enjoy food, drinks and live music before and after the run.

“This is a fun run for all levels of runners and walkers in Central Oregon, so bring out your friends — even create a competitive team of your own for the benefit of local cancer survivorship programs,” said Debby Ofstendahl, event coordinator for this year’s Press On event. “The picturesque route will follow a scenic loop near Bend’s Old Mill District — an ideal workout on what could be a cool autumn day.”

All participants will receive a goodie bag, a FREE pint of cider (or beer), and a 2017 Press On T-shirt for participating.

“Do it for great cause, then enjoy the festivities afterwards at ATLAS Cider Company,” said Sherri Dean of Recharge, and a promoter of the 5K.

An accessible and affordable athletic recovery and performance training center located in Bend’s The Box Factory opposite of ATLAS Cider, Recharge took the lead in planning this year’s fun run/walk.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Tour des Chutes, specifically to be used in developing a program that provides local cancer survivors access to necessary therapy and rehabilitation services.

Cost to participate in the fun run/walk is $30, or $35 when you register on race day.
